Return Policy
In the event a customer needs to return an item we ask that we are contacted directly within 30 days of receiving the item. We always prefer to work directly with our customers to correct any issues with an item when possible. Any items that were not received as described or arrived damaged will be returned at our expense and the customer will be issued a full credit. Return shipping will be the customer’s responsibility ONLY on returned items ordered by accident, no longer needed or damaged by the customer. Returns for items ordered by accident, no longer needed or damaged by the customer will be subject to a restocking fee of an amount no greater than the shipping and handling charges we incurred to have the item delivered. All returns, unless damaged during delivery, must be returned in the same condition we shipped them in.
In some instances we will offer an extension to the 30 day return period. This applies only to units that require installation at a later date. In order for this extension to be granted, we require a call or email to our customer service team with this specific request.
If a buyer is experiencing an issue with an item purchased from us, we are often able to walk buyers through simple steps that result in a quick solution to that problem.
90 Day Warranty
At Max Marine Electronics we want our customers to feel secure when making their purchases. It is important for us that we offer a fair warranty to make our customers aware of our commitment to their satisfaction. We exhibit this through standing behind our repairs and items sold. Our 90 day warranty covers most items and repairs. The 90 day period begins once the product is received by our customer. Extensions are occasionally granted for items awaiting installation and are issued at our sole digression. An extension must be requested in writing and approved by Max Marine Electronics. Exclusions from the 90 warranty include the following; items being sold for parts/repair, items showing evidence of voltage over load or lightning strike, if a repair attempt is made on our sold products or repairs by anyone other than Max Marine Electronics or if an exclusion is otherwise noted in the item’s original description. Your warranty will be void and we will not repair anyone else’s failed attempts at repairing your electronics. If a purchased item or repair does not work for its intended purpose please contact us immediately. We will make the repair process as quick and painless as possible. Please note the 90 day warranty IS NOT a refund policy. Warrantied items will be repaired or replaced with an item of equal value and quality. Only in the event that we cannot replace or repair your item, we may need to offer a refund. We regret having to add this, however we store all sales records, pictures of each item listed and serial numbers of the items we sell and repair. This effort is to protect interests of everyone involved. Any persons attempting to defraud Max Marine Electronics will not be covered under any warranty and will blocked from doing any business with us moving forward.
U.S. Shipping
Continental US:
All ‘BUY IT NOW’ non-auction items being shipped by our standard shipping, in the continental United States ship FREE, unless otherwise indicated!
All auction items being shipped in the continental United States ship for a flat fee as stated in the shipping section unless otherwise indicated.
Outside Continental US:
Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, other U.S. Territories and military addresses may be subject to additional shipping charges for Priority Mail Service. This charge will be stated in our description and will cover USPS Priority Mail shipping. If the item is over dimension for Priority (6’ radar antennas, larger satellite TV domes, etc) it may have to go USPS Parcel Select (this applies to less than 1% of items). Typically, we will bill our customers through Paypal for this additional charge. If there is not an additional charge mentioned, the item will be shipped free with USPS.
All auction items being shipped outside of the continental US are subject to additional shipping charges as quoted in the auction listing description.
Large items, such as open array radars and satellite TV equipment, may be too large to ship to some domestic addresses outside the continental United States. Before making these purchases please be sure to contact our customer service to get the package dimensions or to ask one of our helpful representatives if the item is able to ship to the desired address. If we are not able to ship an item, customers are always able to arrange freight shipping at their own expense.
Expedited Shipping:
Standard shipping is the only option with orders placed on eBay, these items will be shipped with the carrier of our choosing.
If expedited shipping is needed or there is a request for a specific carrier, please message us through eBay or call our customer service at 754-220-6565 for a quote to cover any additional cost. These requests must be done through email, eBay messages or by phone immediately. Please note we ship most packages within one business day and oftentimes, same business day. While we try to be thorough, if a note is simply added to an order requesting expedited shipping there is a possibility it may be missed. We always want our customers satisfied, please help us to make that possible by dealing directly with our customer service.
Other Policies:
All packages over $500 will require a signature for delivery, please be aware of this policy as there are no exceptions, this is for everyone’s protection. Please provide a delivery address where someone will be available to sign for these packages upon delivery.
In most cases, tracking numbers will be uploaded to eBay within one business day of orders being paid for. Please check eBay order details to track delivery progress.
We always attempt to choose reliable carrier services and package items as safely and securely as possible. Rarely, an accident may happen outside of our control. In the event that a package is damaged, delayed or lost in shipping, please contact us immediately. We will contact the carrier and work with our buyers to come up with the best possible solution.
International Shipping
We ship most of our smaller International orders via USPS International First Class Parcel to keep shipping costs down for our customers. This service takes an average of 2 weeks, but may take longer. We ask that our customers allow up to 6 weeks for delivery. We would like our customers be prepared for a 6 week ship time or have the opportunity to request an expedited shipping method. Additionally, USPS International First Class does not offer tracking throughout the entire shipping process. Packages may be scanned once in the United States and not scanned again until they are delivered, or may not be scanned at all. The service is reliable, it just is not as fast and traceable as other more expensive methods. If expedited shipping is needed please contact our customer service via telephone, email or eBay messaging prior to or immediately following order placement, as we do ship most orders within one business day.
On larger items, we ship either through USPS International Priority or Express, both of which offer better tracking. If International Express is specifically needed, please contact our customer service immediately following order placement through telephone, email or eBay messaging, as we do ship most orders within one business day.
Please be advised once a package leaves our store we have no control over the delivery time. All USPS international delivery times are subject to delays due to customs and the speed, organization and reliability of the destination country’s postal service. Please track all international packages on USPS.com. We are able to view only the same information visible to our customers on USPS.com.
International shipping times cannot be guaranteed regardless of the level service purchased. Please be advised that any package held by government officials at customs for any reason can and possibly will delay shipping. Customs agents supersede the permissions of all carriers and have the right at any time to detain a package. In the event that this occurs, shipping refunds cannot be issued. We are not refunded by the carrier for weather or other reasons outside of any carrier’s control. Ship time is actually calculated by the number of days a package is in a carrier’s possession, customs / government holds do not count toward this time. This information can be seen on USPS.com.
We will not falsify any customs documents or forms. The price paid on eBay is the price that will be reflected on shipping documents. Any requests for this type of service will be ignored.
International customers are responsible for all customs and duty fees imposed by their government. This is not included in shipping charges or the cost of the item. If buyers are unaware and would like to know what these additional fees will be, please contact the destination postal service or try to get an estimation online.
Some countries have regulations regarding the dimensions of the packages we can have delivered. If ordering a radar or any large item, please check with us before making the purchase. We will be happy to check shipping guidelines and get accurate shipping charges determined upon request.
Please provide all address information in English. This helps us to avoid auto correct errors and shipping delays.
The Process
Our items are obtained through our partnerships with marine electronics installers, boatyards, marinas, and boat owners. When they arrive at our facility, they are put in a holding area to be evaluated and listed to our eBay store. Each individual item is tested on a live test setup that emulates a normal installation on a vessel. This is done to be sure that the unit not only powers on, but that all of the accessory ports function properly. During this testing process, software updates are performed, any issues we find are addressed by our repair team. Once testing is complete, photos of the actual unit in operation are taken, then unit goes on to our listing department to be listed to our eBay store. In the event that we are unable to test an item, we make this absolutely clear in our listing as to not mislead our buyers.
