In the first photo, you can see that the two mounting holes for the coil are situated on a diagonal instead of running straight across.  I believe that this indicates that this distributor is only for late 1936 Ford models. This spins by hand but is a little stiff.  Nothing looks broken but this needs a good cleaning.
