This Ford Style Mini Starter is an upgrade for most applications prior to or near 1993. The PA Performance High Torque Mini Starter works well on higher compression engines up to 12.0:1 compression. Features 1.4kw of cranking power and weighs pounds less than the bulky factory unit. Also provides additional clearance for long tube headers. The starter's very small size increases header clearance and reduces the effects of "hot start". Early factory field wound starters weigh around 18 lbs. The mini starters weigh in at 8-1/2 lbs. which is over 50% less than the factory starter! Even with the small package, the starter packs a bigger punch and requires less cranking amps.

Includes the conversion wire kit for “Upgrade Applications” but it is not used with “Direct Replacement” applications. This unit is smaller than the early starters and the same size but with a stronger output compared to the newer (early 1990s') starters.
