Whenever you are dealing with wiring and the electrical system it is important to take necessary precautions and always follow the recommendations of the manufacturers.

Here, we have a complete kit to upgrade the main power feed wire from the alternator to the vehicle in most Fords. The OEM wiring in 1986-2004 Mustangs was not developed to handle higher amp alternators. This kit from PA Performance connects the alternator to the vehicle safely and extends 10 feet. In order to retain the warranty with PA Performance you must use this Power Wire Kit when running one of their upgraded alternators.

Additionally, you can use this kit with any alternator that has a 3/16-threaded battery (+) stud. The ring terminal on the alternator side is 1/4 I.D.

*#4 gauge wire kits are recommended on all upgrades but required when upgrading any 1993 or older vehicle with a 130-amp or 200-amp alternator.

Every kit comes with a 200-amp Littlefuse Brand fuse and holder. Littlefuse Performance has designed these fuses using the correct specifications and tolerances to come up with the appropriate rating. You should NOT increase or decrease the fuse amperage value.
