Installation Guidelines
- YOU MUST ADD OIL!
Drain any oil shipped in compressor (used for lubrication during shipping only,
and add proper amount of PAG oil. Oil must be added through the fill bolt of the
compressor, when applicable.
After everything has been installed, use your hand or a spanner wrench to rotate
the clutch 10 to 15 times before you turn the system on. This will clear the
system of lubricants.
*** PERMANENT failure can result if this step
is not done.***
- Transfer any brackets and switches from the old unit to the
new one.
- At time of installation, replace the accumulator or drier,
orifice tube and/or expansion valve(s), any hoses with muffler assemblies, OE
inline filters, if applicable, and parallel flow condenser.
- The entire Air Conditioning system must be completely
flushed out. Air or aerosol is not an effective or acceptable method for
cleaning the A/C system. Acceptable methods of cleaning the A/C system would be
a closed loop cleaning, using refrigerant or liquid solvent flush.
- Evacuate the system of moisture and air. Use a vacuum pump
to evacuate the system to 29.5 in/Hg for at least 45 minutes. If the temperature
is over 80ยบ, or if the vehicle is equipped with a dual zone system, at least one
hour is recommended.
- Recharge the system using OE recommended refrigerant.
