Diesel marine engine Perkins 4-108 50 hp

Engine starts and runs easily and has 2400 hrs and was well-maintained. The engine very recently has developed a knocking sound and may need to be rebuilt. A rebuild kit from Trans Atlantic diesel is $700. The Perkins comes with a Hurth transmission which I believe is a 2:1. It also comes with a Bowman heat exchanger. I am having the engine removed this week and it is being replaced with a new engine. 

I am asking $1800 or best offer.
