Here we have a handbrake assembly for an S1 or S2 E Type, original cable included

The handle chrome is nice overall, but does have light scratches, as if someone was wearing a ring was handling it. Way down below, the chrome is pitting just above the small chrome access cover, but that is the extent of the pitting

The main pivot bolt and castellated nut have been replaced, due to corrosion on the original. These new fasteners are a size larger than original

The cable is rust free and in perfect operating condition. The ratchet on the handle is clean with zero wear. The unit was disassembled and cleaned after 35 years in dry storage, and operates as intended

For concours pretensions, replacing would be necessary, but this would be appropriate for a nice driver the way it is. The pitting of the chrome is far below the level of the console and completely out of sight

All non chrome pieces have been glass beaded and given the Ospho anti corrosion treatment, so either replating or painting of these parts is required. Again, these pieces are out of sight and only some protection is necessary
