The versatile VTAC from VMAC Racing records two high and two low readings per lap. It will display engine RPM and lap number while on the track with up to a 100 lap recall, and after the race it will recall best lap with a push of the button. Plus, the tach is lighted, so it's great for night use. Easily removed from car at the car wash or into a back up car. Works with 4, 6 or 8 cylinder engines with magnetos or standard ignitions. Comes with instructions, mounting bracket and wire loom for easy installation.

Summary: This tach is very intuitive; using on an ASCS 360 with internal Vertex mag, it really helps in adjusting gear ratio to keep the motor in the power band as it gives you the low RPM on corner exits.
When my tach (which is approx. 7 years old) started to give low RPM readings of 400-500 RPM, I contacted VMAC by email. Dawn explained the diagnosis/repair procedure very clearly and I shipped it out to the company. After a speedy assessment of the problem they gave me my options which included a software update and hardware replacement to bring my tach up to current standards. They fixed the issue and returned my tach with 2 day shipping so I had it for my upcoming race. I can't say enough about the VMAC company, they really went out of their way to get me back on track. It's hard to still find quality companies that stand by their product and take care of us racers. Thanks VMAC for the help this year!

Summary: We were looking for a tach that would give us a lot more into - and found this on-line. We called the manufacturer ( not at the number listed at speedway btw :) via their website - and got great service with lots of further info on how it works, who runs it, etc. So we bought for the 2015 season, and have loved it! we can see not only the High we hit, but lows - and also how the track and driver are doing through the WHOLE race.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Summary: I've used this tach for a couple of seasons - I found it while looking for a different tach that would give us more - no-one here at the time was running it, so it took awhile to find out if it would work for us. now I wouldn't want to be without it! I would like bigger numbers - but I don't look on the track, and will give that up for all the stored laps. We can get a whole race and see how our RPM and lap times compare. It is the only thing close to an onboard computer...that's legal!
