Wireless pressure monitoring from each tire. The Hopkins 38100VA Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) is a wireless, in-vehicle diagnostic tool designed to effortlessly enable drivers to monitor the tire pressure of every one of the vehicles they have on the road. Installing in minutes on nearly any set of tires, pressurized from 10 to 150 PSI, fully customizable, able to track up to 24 tires simultaneously and possessing four different memory positions, it is the ideal TPMS for motorhomes, trucks that pull trailers, and standard passenger cars and trucks.
Why Get a Tire Pressure Monitoring System?
Tires bear the full weight of your vehicle as you move down the road, and maintaining proper air pressure plays a significant role in protecting them from dangerous blowouts, preventing excessive and/or uneven wear, and maximizing overall fuel efficiency. But situated out of sight of the driver, tire pressure levels are all too often neglected. Nine of ten tire failures are caused by driving on under-inflated tires, and tires do not become visibly low until they have lost 40% of their air. Dangerous driving conditions begin when tires pressure is 25% low, which can be a recipe for disaster.
The Right TPMS Diagnostics for Any Vehicle
The Hopkins 38100VA TPMS makes tire diagnostics clean, easy and painless year-round, right from the comfort of the driver's seat. The system consists of a small programmable wireless enabled monitor, which, after being synched with sensors that attach to the valves on your tires, allows drivers to monitor tire pressure and temperature from a spot near the dashboard at any time. Six sensors are included, and with the purchase of additional sensors, the system is able to simultaneously monitor up to 24 tires, making the 38100VA TPMS ideal for nearly any vehicle or vehicle configuration, including RVs with or without towed vehicles, vehicles pulling trailers or boats, and standard cars and trucks.
The 2-Level Warning System: How It Works
The unit works on an easy to understand 2-level warning system. Simply ensure that your tires are filled to the proper pressure*, attach the sensors to your tire valves and synch them with the unit's monitor. The system will use this initial, correct pressure reading as a baseline, subsequently issuing visual and audio warnings from your monitor when/if pressure drops to below one of two crucial levels. For example, when all of your tires are reporting normal tire pressures, the green light on the monitor face will be illuminated, but should any tire fall 12.5% below normal -- indicating that it is slightly low and should be filled at your first convenience -- the yellow light will flash and a beeping alarm will sound. Furthermore, if pressures fall to the dangerous level of 25% below normal or below, a red light will flash and a constant tone will sound. At this point you should stop immediately and add pressure to the tires. To determine which tires need attention simply open the monitor by touching the release button and the screen will flip open. The low tire(s) will flash and readout the exact tire pressure. On the face of the monitor you'll find a mute button to eliminate the audible alarm, but the yellow or red lights will continue to flash until the low tire pressure problem has been corrected.
Although the TPMS' handy, easy to read, fold-up LCD screen provides comprehensive information on your vehicles tire pressure, it was also designed to operate in the closed position while vehicles are in motion. By closing the screen when mounted in the car, driver distractions are minimized, while all around driving safety is maximized. In addition, the unit has a four-position memory, allowing drivers to use it across four different vehicles/vehicle configurations without reprogramming.
Features:
- Monitor the exact number and configuration of tires that correspond to the vehicles you are driving and/or towing
- With four programmable memory positions there is no need to reprogram each time you drive and/or tow a different vehicle or trailer; just save different vehicle combinations for recall at the push of a button
- Wireless technology guarantees transferability of the unit; just buy enough sensors to monitor all the tires on all your vehicles and the portable monitor goes with you to whichever vehicle you are driving.
- With the ability track up to 24 tires simultaneously users can monitor the vehicle you are driving, your towed vehicle or trailer, and any spare tires
- Works on small trailer tires, car tires, truck tires all the way to large RV tires between 10 and 150 PSI
