CAD designed and precision machine cut MDF Subwoofer Trunk (boot) Box Enclosure

• Installs into existing threaded holes of the car's frame.  NO MODIFICATION TO THE CAR NEEDED.  FULLY REVERSIBLE.

• This enclosure has been designed to be fully removable from the trunk in case you need the space, this way you are not stuck with a permanently attached box to your car!
• All you need to do is remove the six bolts (three bolts on each side, takes five minutes, marked by RED arrows [use a small allen hex key or ratchet]).
• The only panel that remains on the car is the one with the BLUE dot which is only 3/4" thick.  See photo below:

 

  

PLENTY OF CLEARANCE:

• There is about a one inch (1.0")clearance above and below the box even with the convertible top compartment lowered per photos below:
• The convertible top compartment can be raised or lowered WITH the box installed, there is NO INTERFERENCE.
• The trunk floor cover can be slipped in or removed without any issues with the box installed.

  

CONSTRUCTION:

• Instead of using glue and nails like traditional boxes, we over-engineered this box; it uses 3/4" long bolts, lock washers and wood inserts.  This method allows:
• Change of individual panels as you wish, repair damaged ones or increase/decrease the volume of the box in the future.
• Lasting structural integrity vs. glue and nails that loosen over time and don't hold as strongly as bolts with lock washers to begin with.
• The box to be fully disassembled and stored flat.

 

BOX VOLUME:

• One cubic foot including the car frame "tunnel" volume in the rear section.  This is the recommended volume for a 10"-12" inch subwoofer sealed box.
• If you have a smaller subwoofer, just fill the box with sound absorption material to reach your desired volume.  You can also order a custom volume box (more or less volume) for an extra $25.

SEALED OR OPEN BOX:

• Sound tests show that there's even more bass resonance and volume if you leave the rear cover off as in the photo below;  you can use the box with or without the rear cover, both provide great bass and is a matter of preference:

   

• Enclosure only fits convertibles since they have an opening between the rear seat passenger area and the trunk
• Perfect for installing a large high powered subwoofer and show it off too!

• All hardware is included (bolts and washers to fit into existing threaded holes of the car as well as all hardware for the box structure assembly)

Why would you want to install an aftermarket subwoofer? As an example, the Harman Kardon "premium" sound system in these cars have subwoofers that are rated at 40 Watts (see photo); this is very under-powered and hardly "premium". You can install subwoofers that can easily handle from 300-1400 Watts for as low as $50 to $250.  The sound improvement is incredible, you'll feel your music!  If you like bass with your music, I don’t need to explain this to you.
