Individual bristles in the PowerBall are designed with non-porous, dense foam that’s most effective for polishing unpainted metal surfaces. With proper metal polishes, bringing any aluminum, stainless steel, copper, or brass surface back to its original luster is easy. While the original PowerBall is safe to use on automotive paint surfaces, we recommend PowerBall 4 Paint for best results on painted automotive surfaces with clear coat. PowerBall 4 Paint is constructed the same way, but because its foam bristles are a softer, more porous “open cell” design, they absorb more wax deeper into the foam – releasing it more evenly as you work. Additionally, PowerBall 4 Paint’s foam is softer on clear coat finishes.
