About Us


MSG Bike Gear was established in 2003. It first came about by an active interest in motorbikes and racing of its owner and creator, Mick Dawson. Mick is a professional ACU bike rider both on and off road.

Mick started up by selling small motorcycle items on the internet and over the next few years it developed into one of the most well known and successful internet motorbike accessory businesses in the North East of England. MSG Bike Gear is a family run company and based on a small countryside unit in the Cleveland Hills overlooking the river Tees.

As it is based in such an ideal setting in the countryside we offer open day events for bike clubs and they can come and look around at their leisure and enjoy friendly hospitality along with coffee and home made biscuits! On these events MSG arranges to donate a percentage of funds raised to local charities such as North Air Ambulance.

MSG Bike Gear sells everything you need to ride your motorcycle and to keep it safe. We sell locks, chains, ground anchors and other accessories for security. We also sell boots, gloves, clothing, helmets, heated grips and much much more. All helmets are ECE 22.01 safety standards.

If there is anything that you need that we do not have listed on the website, you only have to ask and we will do out utmost to get it for you at very competitive prices.

Please be aware that whilst we try to offer the best postage service we can, additional postage costs may be required to ship items above a certain weight or size to certain post code areas both in the UK and overseas, we will notify you in this instance to confirm the cost of any additional postage and the best way to resolve payment.

UK NOTE: Dispatch / Delivery times may vary depending where in the UK your item is being sent to: Especially Northern Ireland, UK Islands and Scottish Highlands where couriers advise us to allow extra time.

How is my item sent?
Any small, low cost items and weighing less than 1000g will be sent to you via 3 day courier unless a quicker service is cheaper to use. Larger/heavier and more valuable items will be delivered by our courier. Delivery of items will normally require a signature. Some items are offered with free postage and the service used is shown on the listing. Please also be aware that even standard delivery may still be tracked and in most cases therefore will require a signature on delivery. Most international countries do use tracking numbers that are sent from the UK even when sent via Royal Mail or DHL Global Mail.

Please remember when you accept a delivery, you are signing to say that you have received the goods in a perfect conditions. If you notice any damage on the package or if you think it has been mishandled always sign as damaged.

How long will it take to receive my order?
Unless otherwise stated on the item description, we always endeavor to dispatch UK orders the same working day if ordered before 3pm Monday to Friday. Dispatch times are shown in the listing. However any goods ordered after 3pm on Fridays or over the weekend will not be dispatched until Monday. Upon purchase of your item you will be presented with various delivery options which will inform you of the delivery timescales available.

Working days are classed as Monday to Friday and exclude weekends and all public holidays

Can I select the delivery date?
If for any reason you would like your items to be delivered later than the advertised timescales we will make every effort to help. If you require this service please state your required delivery date in the additional notes section when making payment or alternatively you can call our dedicated customer service team on 01325 332900 who will be happy to arrange this for you. Timed or Saturday deliveries are also available at an extra charge, please call us for details.

How can I track my order?
Once your item is dispatched you will receive an e-mail giving you a link to our courier?s website along with a consignment number that will allow you to track the status of your delivery. If you have provided us with a mobile telephone number you will also receive an SMS text informing you on when your items are likely to be delivered. At present order tracking is only available for items that have been sent to you via our courier service. If you would like information about items sent via Royal Mail please call our customer service team on 01325 332900 sales@msgbikegear.co.uk .

What happens if I'm out when you deliver?
If you are unable to be home when we deliver the courier will leave a card stating that they have attempted to deliver your consignment while you were out. You can then either collect your items from your local depot, whose address will be on the card, or alternatively you can contact the courier to arrange re-delivery. If you wish you may leave instructions for the delivery driver such as ?leave with neighbour? for example, in this case it is at the driver?s discretion whether he leaves the item and you will assume full responsibility for the package.

Will you deliver to an alternative delivery address?
As a security measure to protect our customers and ourselves from fraud we will only dispatch items to the address where your credit/debit card is registered or if paying via PayPal to your PayPal registered address. The only way in which we can deliver to a different address is if payment is received by direct bank transfer or postal order.

Do you deliver overseas?
Please see the Postage and Payments tab on the advertised listing for a full list of countries we currently ship to. We deliver to BFPO (British Forces Post Office) addresses in the UK; however please allow an extended delivery time for these orders.

Can I combine multiple orders into one delivery?
If you wish to buy multiple items please select all items before attempting to make payment, eBay should then automatically combine the postage charges. If you have made multiple purchases separately and would like to try and combine postage please e-mail us or call us on 01325 333346 and we will try our best to arrange this, however we cannot guarantee that postage can be combined after the payment has been processed.

What if there is a problem with my product?
If you are in any way unsatisfied with the product you have received you may return it to us for a full refund any time up to 30 days after you have received the goods providing the goods are unused and still have their original packaging. For more information about returns please see the returns tab. We do advise that you check your goods thoroughly on receipt as you are signing to say that you received them in good condition.

What happens if I do not receive my goods?
If your items are sent by courier you should have received your goods within 2-3 working days. If goods are sent via Royal Mail they should arrive in between 2-14 days. If after these times your goods have not arrived please contact us on 01325 332900.

Helmets: All Crash Helmets MUST have all stickers/instructions attached to the helmet and not worn/used in any way, as they will not be accepted as new and therefore can't be returned. Helmets: No refund will be given under any circumstances.

Returning:
Please include senders name and address, along with a copy of the original payment receipt and your contact phone number. It is recommended that goods are returned by recorded/insured delivery as we can't accept responsibility for undelivered/damaged returned goods. eBay Refund Returns: Listing price only will be refunded and not postage charges.
