Differential Side Bearing Remover
GMT 900 w/HDSC C/K Trucks Silverado/Sierra
The differential side bearing cones are mounted on the adjuster nuts
instead of the differential case trunions on 9.25" HDCS front axles, and
must be removed for pinion shim selection. J-45766 removes the side
bearing cone without damage, so the cone can be re-installed after the
required pinion shim is determined. Both halves of J-45766 are fastened
around the bearing cone. Previously Essential J-8433 Puller is attached
to J-45766 using the bolts supplied with J-45766. The forcing screw from
J-8433 is tightened against J-36597 Pilot Washer, which is placed in
the bore of the adjuster nut, and will draw the bearing off the
adjuster. Unapproved methods will damage the bearing.
