Akrapovic systems are designed for riders who demand maximum performance from their motorcycle. These systems are significantly lighter when compared to the stock exhaust and feature exceptional production quality, hi-tech materials and of course - increased engine performance combined with a pure racing sound. The exhaust was developed to complement the racing character of the GSX-R1000.

PERFORMANCE

Power & Torque: The power increase with the Akrapovic system is substantial, and can be seen from 5000 RPM right to the top of the range. At 12360 RPM Akrapovic measured 178.3 HP, with a maximum increase of power over stock being 14 HP at 12900 RPM. The systemï¾’s effect on the torque and power curve is huge and strongest in midrange RPM. The main increase starts at around 4500 RPM and continues right into the over-rev range. All this will help you shave lap times and result in much smoother ride.

CONFIGURATION

The 4-2-1-2 configuration exhaust system uses stainless steel throughout, except for the dual mufflers themselves, which are made from a combination of titanium and carbon fiber. The upper part of the header tubes are conical and formed using the state-of-the-art hydroforming procedure, where the tubes are precisely shaped using pressurized water. Using this procedure, Akrapovic obtained maximum efficiency of the exhaust gas flow. The system leads into two cylindrical collectors, which goes to a single collector. This collector then branches out into two link pipes leading to dual mufflers. The mufflers' outer sleeves are titanium with the outlet caps molded from carbon-fiber. The interior of each muffler is made of titanium. All tubes are connected with sleeve joints held together with silicon-shielded tensioning springs. The mufflers are attached to the passenger footpegs with a pair of carbon-fiber clamps.
