Mercedes Benz OEM engine block only part # R 278 010 41 05 out of my 2012 S550 4-matic with M278 bi-turbo engine with 194K miles.  I had piston slapping and had to replace the engine.  The cylinder walls are scorned badly and would need to be re-bored.  This engine had regularly scheduled Mobil 1 oil changes (most well before the scheduled time of 10K miles) since 50K miles when I purchased the car in 2015.

A tiny part of the block by the starter location was cut during removal as shown in the photos.  The oxidation you see on the block is because the engine was exposed to outside elements for a month before I got it into my garage to tear down.

It will come with the matching crankshaft bearing caps and bolts pictured though you need to use new bolts I believe as these are one-use only bolts.
