An old Auto-Lite GH-1012 Generator that I got at an auction of vintage car parts.

According to my old catalog, this is OEM for use on:

• CHEVROLET CARS  (1923: Superior car models)

The catalog also indicates the the following models use Auto-Lite "GH" Generators but there is no number following the "GH" so I can't be sure whether the GH-1012 is used on these models or not:

• CHEVROLET  (1922: "490" models;  1920-22: FB models)
• OLDSMOBILE  (1921-22: all)

I can spin the gear by hand.  The casting on the end is broken (see last 2 photos).  Nothing else on the outside is broken or cracked.  I did not take this apart to look at the inside.
