For the “DO-IT-YOURSELF” individual, these components can be used to build a mechanical marine refrigeration system.

It uses a 12 Volt DC 100 AH battery to power a 12 Volt DC motor which drives a 1/4 HP belt driven refrigeration compressor, to supply refrigerant to a 16” x 15” x 3” holding cold plate, mounted in an insulated 5 cu. ft. ice chest.

                        Refrigerant Compressor, 465 - 975 RPM Speed Range, 2-cylinder, 3 cu. inch  Displacement, 7”  dia. pulley for “A” style V-belts.

                        Recommend Bitzer IY Compressor (or equiv.)

 

                        12 Volt DC 1800 RPM 1/4 HP Electric Motor 56C Frame.

                        Recommend Marathon Z660 Motor (or equiv.)

 

                        Stainless Steel Holding Cold Plate, typically custom built.
