Up for consideration, I have a lower unit removed from a 1995 150 HP Mercury. Its standard rotation. The gear oil was dark and not milky. There were no signs of excessive metal shavings. This is for an XL shaft motor. This will fit a wide range oy years and models. Nice used working condition overall.
