If you use a radio system for your business then you will need a licence from Ofcom. Business radio users range from taxi companies and factories, to hospitals, care homes, industrial sites and transport operators. With the exception of radios operating in the PMR446 licence free band, all other radio equipment requires an Ofcom licence.
It is the users responsibility to ensure that they hold the correct Ofcom licence for the type of radio system they are using. This can be a complicated process and if you are unsure what you need, you can speak to us and we can advise and, in many cases, apply for and manage the licence on your behalf.
Secondhand radio equipment is supplied programmed to Ofcom Business Radio Simple UK licence frequencies. To operate legally, you either need to re-programme these radios to use your licensed frequencies, or apply for a Business Radio Simple UK licence on-line, or ask us to do it for you.
