This lower unit was removed from a 70 HP Mercury Force outboard serial OE110185 that was only used in freshwater Wisconsin.

Overall, it’s fairly clean but it has some issues :

I couldn’t turn the drive shaft by hand.

I could turn the prop shaft and it seemed to shift into forward and reverse but then (of course) I could no longer turn the prop shaft.

The prop shaft bearing carrier is trashed-see pictures. Needless to say, I was unable to do a pressure check.

I’m guessing the driveshaft bearings are fried due to lack of oil. Still, I think it can be rebuilt or provide a lot of parts.
