With 40 levels of damping valve adjustment, you can easily adjust from stiff to soft simply by twisting the knob. Featuring mono-tube design with large capacity 52 mm dia. JIS seamless carbon steel shock body filled with IP F.A. 5W damper oil with properly valved 44 mm internal pistons to endurance competitiveness on a track course or daily spirited driving on public road. Cold wound springs are made from high tensile SAE9252 steel to ensure durability. Vehicle ride heights are adjusted with lower brackets to offer maximum shock travel in order to provide comfort compared to lowering springs alone. Mostly billet aluminum hardware accessories are used for its weight saving property in order to reduced overall weight of the coil-over system yet remain durable. All parts are replaceable and most importantly shock absorbers can be rebuild for customization or simply purchase replacement cartridge without spending too much for complete new coil-over system. Mono-tube shocks with threaded body enable ride height adjustment by extend or shorten the length of full strut. Traditional coilovers that play with spring preload to raise or lower vehicle ride height can cause noise or poor riding quality. Full length type coilovers enables spring preload to be adjustable independently from ride height adjust-ability. MAXX coilovers allows the entire length of strut to be adjusted independently without change the spring stroke amount and not worrying about shock bottoming out due to shrink springs.
Provided illustration on the right should helps you understand how these full-length coilover struts functions. By adjusting the lower mount up or down (B), you can extend or shorten the full length of full strut (A).
The rebound damping directly affects the operating speed of the piston rod returning to its natural ride height position and controls the expansion rate of the coil spring. The rebound valves can be opened for a softer driving behavior and closed for a more performance oriented setup. The ways of vehicle handling and ride comfort can be influenced with the adjustable rebound of the coilovers.
