I have never sold on eBay before so here goes. This is a 250 hp four stroke Yamaha lower unit that came off a 2010 with a 25” shaft. I used it on a Yamaha f225. To do that the boat mechanic had to change out the water pump because the 250 has two water pick up intakes versus only one on the 225. Just so you know, you can not use a 225 on the 250 because the 250 needs to pick ups for cooling, And if you want to use it on a 250 hp motor, you will have to put a new water pump in it for the two pick ups. I switched my lower units only because when I bought the boat, the seller never told me that it had a left hand counter rotation on a motor that has serial numbers for a right hand or clockwise rotation. To make a long story short, the motor had a scored cylinder wall. I wanted to try out some different props because it just didn’t have the speed or low end to get on plane that I wanted. Imagine my surprise when I put it in reverse and ran right back up my trailer. So that’s how I found that out. So I got a hold of the clockwise lower unit to try different props because in the area I live, there are no left-hand counterrotation motors, so there are no props with left-hand counter rotation at any boat dealership. So after trying several right hand props, I took it back to a mechanic that told me that a lot of motors will pass a compression test, but will not pass a leak down test. The motor passed the compression test ,but not a leak down test. So if you ever buy a boat, spend the $200 and get a leak down test because that’s how I found out that it had a ring that let loose and scored the cylinder wall. Lower unit worked just fine for the few  hours that I used it. I did paint it with Yamaha spray paint because it just looks better. The bullet did have some scratches in it. So the parts in it are used, but in the north, a motor with 400 hours is considered a lot of hours. I cannot offer any returns so, keep that in mind when you make your bid.
