Up for sale is a 470 mercruiser 4 cyl complete  running engine.  My friend bought a Bayliner about 10 years ago with a pair of these.  One had just been remanufactured and had about 20 hours on it and the other was original.  He then had the original one changed out for a reman and ran the boat for 1 season before gutting the interior to completely redo it.  Project got abandoned and eventually he had to move on and I parted the boat up.  He had removed the carbs and sealed the intakes with plywood and gasket paper, oiled the cylinders and capped the exhaust before storing since there was so much money tied up in these motors. So I do not have the carbs but I adapted a Ford truck carb on to test run the motors.  I pulled the valve covers and checked and took pictures. No sludge, no rust, they look perfect.  One motor has probably 20 to 30 hours and the other has at most 50. I don't know witch is witch.  This listing is for the motor pictured but the other is available if you should want it. these cost 5000 or 6000 for a long block and what I have here is the complete motor minus carb with heat exchanger , bell housing, coupler, mounts, manifolds etc...  As far as I can tell by running, checking, looking at oil, pulling valve cover, doing a compressor and leak down test, these are like new engines.  Compression was  cyl1 147, cyl2 145, cyl3 149, cyl4 145.  At full shop air no leaking could be heard at valves or rings.   Short of a complete teardown I could not be more confident in these motors.  I am happy to send you a video of it running or demonstrate in person.  I am in Pittsburgh and can palletize this and drop off at a nearby truck stop, but you must arrange shipping.   Let me know if you have any questions.  I believe the boat therse came out of was a 85.   Thanks
