Some models of Yamaha WaveRunners are notorious for power-robbing cavitation. The poor design of the jet pump shoe allowed air to disturb the flow of water through your pump, causing the air to disturb that flow. It robs your ski of power and can give you that "slipping clutch" feeling while riding.
