Up for consideration, I have a powerhead removed from a 90 HP Mercury. According to the tag on the tag on the midsection on the motor, this was a 2001 model but according to the serial number on the block, this is a 1987 90 HP. I believe 1987-1993 are the same. Please check the serial number and and do your own research. The motor has good even compression on all 3 cylinders. I believe it was around 120 PSI. The block clearly has been worked on before. Most of the bolts dont look original and many arent the same length as the OEM ones. It did not have the mounting studs when I pulled the powerhead, but instead had bolts going up from the midsection. The motor ran, but poorly. I was told it was sitting for about 7 years. I WAS TOLD THE OIL PUMP GEAR WAS REMOVED. PLEASE NOTE THIS. So to conclude, it does have good compression but Id recommend going through it before use. This will be shipped via freight.
