The Forge Motorsport short shifter for the Fiat Abarth 500/595/695 has been specifically designed and tested to maximise your driving experience. With a snappy shorter throw which can be adjusted to suit, this part truly helps you unlock the full potential from your Fiat Abarth.
3D scanning and 3D printed prototypes helped to develop the best solution for this short shifter. The most important part of the development for a short shifter is to ensure that the shift cables aren’t under further deflection than when connected to the OEM shifter.
3D Scan & 3D CAD
The 3D Scans allowed us to locate the repositioned ball pin precisely along the same plane as the OEM, and then the 3D print helped us to confirm our findings before taking the design to our in-house machine shop. As this is an adjustable short shifter, you can easily change shift length with a 16mm spanner. Therefore, you can set the shifter throw to your driving preference anywhere between standard and a maximum reduction of 73% per gear shift.
The Throw
The images below show neutral, the shortest 4th gear position from FMSS8, and the OEM 4th gear position. As you can see it can be considerably shortened.
This reduces shift times along with the chance of selecting the wrong gear, making it the ideal modification for track day and fast road driving.
The kit comes complete with everything you need for installation including a set of full colour instructions . Fitting can be carried out in around 1.5 hours.
