HISTORY: In the 1980s, a group of former Boeing engineers formed Sky Innovations, and created the Sky Commuter a two-place carbon-fiber vehicle with a single front and two rear fans that was hoped to provide VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing ) performance. It’s reported that there were only three complete prototypes built, (2 of them were destroyed and the other has sold at auction in the past (lacking engine) —- There were others in various stages of production that 10 investors were able to purchase as part of and exercise to simplify key assembly. (This is #6) .There was about $6 million in development funding from 60 investors.unfortunately the engineers never could figure out a way to make it stable in flight and the project was stopped in about 1990.
