1928-1948 Ford Front Driveshaft Bearing Torque Tube Rebuild Parts and Tools
A bunch of new Ford Model A rear end parts, Ford OEM USA
2 Pinion Nut Wrenchs, driveshaft bearing, 3 Inner Axel and Driveshaft Seals, Lock Washer, Thrust Washer, Snap Ring, Thrust Washer, Axle Shim Pair and 1 Radius Rod Rubber Ball.
You will spend about $100 + S&H to purchase these separately.
Ford Part # A-4634-T Pinion Nut Wrench= Pair $50
Laser cut from 1/4" steel.
Ford Part # B-4645 driveshaft bearing = $20
Original Ford front driveshaft bearing. This bearing is installed in
the front of the torque tube and the driveshaft passes through the
center. A worn driveshaft bearing can cause the driveshaft to have free
play which can lead to chatter, stress on the universal joint and extra
stress on the speedometer gears. Be cautious of cheap offshore
aftermarket bearings as the tolerances can be sloppy. This is a nice,
tight original bearing in great condition
Ford Part # A-4245 Inner Axel and Driveshaft Seals 1928-1949 = $10
You will need two for the rear axles and one for the drive shaft.
Ford Part # A-4636 Lock Washer = $3
The ears of this washer get bent around the pinion bearing nut to secure them in place. Should always be replaced. U.S.A.
Ford Part # A-4637 Thrust Washer = $3
Goes behind the pinion bearing nut. U.S.A.
Ford Part # A-17286 Snap Ring = $1
Holds the speedo driving gear and the thrust washer in place on the drive shaft. U.S.A.
Ford Part # A-17290 Thrust Washer = $3
Mounts on the drive shaft next to the speedo driving gear. U.S.A.
Ford Part # A-4235-SH Axle Shim Pair = $3
Tightens up a loose wheel if hub is worn. Also prevents the brake drum from rubbing against the backing plate, .004" thick.
Ford Part # A-3446 Radius Rubber Ball = $3
For the replacement style ball cap assembly. This is the oil resistant neoprene ball that goes over the steel radius ball. Not used with the original style cap kit like our A-3440-S.
