Reading part number goes:
1st digit - "D" - 1970's range
2nd digit - "1971"
3rd digit - "2" - Model or Models or chassis series
4th digit - "F" - Ford
Bottom mounting bracket - Included
Dial background lighting when radio power turned on.
Important to note on these Ford radio.
I believe there were three similar models that look the same but are different mounting and lighting features.
1st was the control shaft length, 2nd mounting bracket location, 3rd dash lighting connection. Some will turn on with power switch and some with the instrument light switch. It is important when buying a replacement radio, that you get the correct one. Probably all three can be made to mount a different model car. Just will not have the correct dashing lighting control or rear mounting bracket.
