Dill Manufacturing was founded in 1909 in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1915, Dill began manufacturing tire covers for tire valves. These covers (known as caps today) were used on the Ford Model T (1908 - 1924) and eventually other vehicles and tire manufacturers. In 1906 Harvey Firestone negotiated a deal with his friend Henry Ford to become the Ford Motor Company’s original equipment supplier of tires, sealing Firestone’s early success. By 1924, Dill produced 4 million tire valve stems, 5.5 million valve cores a year as well as several tire covers. Dill tire valves, cores and covers were used on Ford's Firestone tires as well as many other tire manufacturers tires.
Today, 115 years later, Dill still flourishes, introducing new products and seeking continuous improvement in design and manufacturing. Dill has become the leader in the automotive aftermarket for tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) replacement sensors, valve stems, service kits, and mechanical tools.

A Ford Model T special cap with built-in valve tool (T-3413-A2) was used beginning Feb. 1925. This cap follows that design and could very well have come off a Ford Model T.
This cap performs the same duty as the much smaller valve stem caps do today. The big difference being this cap covered the entire tire valve stem. It also has the Valve Core Replacement Tool. The tool allows you to remove and replace the valve core inside the tire valve stem. This is useful for fixing leaks or replacing damaged cores. You don't see too many of these tools around anymore.
Condition: This unique vintage automobile tool is about 100 years old. Other than some slight surface discoloration of the brass, the cap is in very good condition, fully functional. It is marked with the Dill Mfg. 1915 Patent Date.

RETURNS / REFUND POLICY
