DOZF-9510-AD 4516-1
This is an authentic, original Holley DOZF-9510-AD / 4516-1 carburetor from a 1970 Cougar XR7 with a 428 Cobra Jet, Automatic Transmission and A/C.
The date code is 9A1, the 1st week of November 1969.
Talk about a sleeper! It was not an Eliminator. It was plain white or cream colored with no badging or graphics or engine callouts and a regular non-ram-air hood! The only emblems were the XR7 on the nose and maybe one one the rear.
My father and I personally pulled the 428 CJ engine and C6 trans out of a 1970 Cougar XR7 that had been sideswiped around 1977 or so and ran it in our 1967 F250 Camper Special for a few years. I sold the engine in the early 80s, but I held on to the carb all these years. The only thing not on it is the aluminum ID tag and the dash pot (solenoid), but the solenoid bracket is still there.
This carburetor is 100% original from a 1970 Cougar XR7 and not a re-stamp or re-issue. This carburetor came as original equipment on 1970 Mustangs and Cougars with the 428CJ or SCJ with automatic transmissions and rare air conditioning.
You are not going to find a more authentic, original Holley for your restoration. No double stamps, not a reissue. It's the real deal just as I pulled it off the 428 CJ over 40 years ago.
