This is a clean, straight output shaft removed from an m46 4 speed transmission from a Volvo 240 or 245. The shaft allows a laycock J type overdrive unit to be fitted to the existing 4 speed transmission, vastly improving the drivability and mileage at highway speeds. The laycock overdrive unit is available in another listing.

The eccentric is included with this shaft (pictured) as is the snap ring.

KEEP IN MIND THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION MUST BE REMOVED AND DISASSEMBLED TO INSTALL THIS. I would consider this "major" surgery and it is not for the shade tree mechanic. Granted hand tools and multiple snap ring pliers will do the job, but i still do not recommend this procedure for first timers.
