In the early 1950's a 54 ft Dutch built wooden motor sailor wound up in dry dock at the Port of Long Beach Ca. It was there to be refitted.  This is the engine from that ship.  Could this have been the main engine? Or an auxiliary that ran the pumps and generator? It was removed and sent to a machine shop in Burbank Ca for rebuilding and reassemble. It is an English version of the famous Waterman K2 inboard.  The boat was abandoned and seized by the ship yard for storage. Years later the boat was stripped and the hull burned. The machine shop was able to order parts from UK but never did any work because the ship yard didn't want it back. It sat under the work bench for over 40 years. Copies of the parts list and manuals for the Lucas magneto come with it. This is going to be a big project but the end result will be worth it. Surprisingly these antique appearing Watermota engines were made well into the 1940's and beyond.  Watermota bought the rights to produce the single K1 and twin K2 models long after they stopped being made in the US.
Look at the photos and email with any questions.  Thanks for looking and reading this far.
