This item is old and it does have wear. It originally came from an estate sale of a collector. The brass has the appearance of being antique brass and not the bright shinny brass. I have provide a lot of pictures for you to look over. I did not find any dents just a couple of impressions on the bottom. The colors in the glass are good. They consist of red/clear/blue. I do not see any cracks or chips. There are a few scratches here and there, but not many, looks good. The door opens and closes. I found that when I applied some oil to the hinges things opened and closed better. There is a wick. Originally the wick just moved up and down a little, so I took the lantern apart and applied some oil to the wick control, moved the wick up and down quite a few times. It now moves the full length of the wick as you can see in the pictures I added. I still hard find it hard to move and I used a rubber gripper to help make it easier. I did not take the wick all the way out because it is old and I was afraid that I could not get it back in. It measures approx. 10 1/2" tall. I measured the metal part where the glass is and it is approx. 4 1/4" wide.
