These are very high quality chain tools, and ones I use myself several times a day.  It is an inexpensive, no frills way to easily cut a chain without twisting or distorting it like other methods will.

This tool does not compare to the less expensive, small foldable chain breakers that have pins that aren't long enough to press the pins all the way through the chain and are extremely hard to hold onto while applying enough force to break a chain without straining.  The other kind are usable but the pins are also very weak and break frequently.  I used to use the other type until I just got tired of replacing pins and not being able to fully seperate a chain by pressing one pin- as you should be able to.

The breaker will enable you to easily remove your old chain and cut new ones to the proper length.  And now it comes with an extra pin- stored in the handle- just in case you need it. 

For chain sizes up to 520, it pushes the pin completely through the chain.  For any chain bigger than 520, its works easiest to just push the two pins of the sideplate where you are breaking the chain just past the sideplate.  The sideplate will come off and the chain will come apart.  And, although grinding off the heads of the pins makes it a little more effortless this step isn't necessary with this breaker tool.

 This tool are listed by the manufacturer as being for use on 428 through 630 size chains.  I haven't used them on the 630 myself yet (just because that isn't a common size), so I'm just going by the manufacturers notes there.  I do know for a fact they work great on all 428, 520, 525, and the strongest 530's available.

 (For best results- generously lubricate the threads of the tools before use.)
