Up for bids is a scarce antique Ford Model T locking ignition switch and wooden box. This item is in good original condition, showing minor age wear. The wooden box measures 7" x 4" X 4", and has a lid which would be nailed on. The lid has a locking ignition battery/magneto switch mounted to it. This switch is marked: "Jefferson Chicago, Patented Jan 12, 1912", and is complete with a Yale lock and key. The key will turn to Bat, Mag or Off, and come out for safety. This switch is showing only minor loss of the plating, and has no dents or pitting.
The wooden box is complete with terminals at the bottom that are also marked. There is also a small brass tag with an image of Thomas Jefferson that reads: "Jefferson Electric Mfg Co; Chicago, Ill". The interior of the box has old wiring inside, which will also help wire indentification. The exterior of the box shows age wear and light staining that would sand off easily. The box could be stained or clear coated, and still be a nice piece. The back of the box is held on by a few recent screws from a previous owner. Otherwise, the box is solid with only a few small age cracks. This rare old switch box is ready for a new home, and will be a welcome addition to your project, parts bin or collection, offered at a Low start price with no reserve.
