Up for bid is this CLARK #5B Foot Warmer or Carriage Heater made by Chicago Flexible Shaft Co. What a great addition for display in the back of a Model T/A FORD or other antique vehicle. Included with the warmer is a CLARK advertisement. The side vent works so back in the day heat could be adjusted. The AD offered is very interesting reading about the warmer and the coal used.This warmer is well made and heavy. The approx. dim. are 13 1/2'' long x 7'' wide x 4 1/2'' high. In the early 1900's individuals would take a hot coal from there house and place it in the pull out tray and this would keep them warm. Don't forget there were no heaters in Model T/A's. I think the smell would be to much along with a safety issue. Thank goodness this is the 21st century and we don't have to worry about heat in our cars. Being sold as is.
