The J2 LED Lighting, LLC Ambient Light Switch (ALS) is a new generation photocell type dusk to dawn control specifically for controlling low voltage 12 - 24 volt DC LED lights.

For most practical purposes the point of switching off can be anticipated between dawn and sunrise with the off state maintained throughout the day.  While the switching on can be anticipated to take place between sunset and dusk with the on state maintained throughout the night.

Said another way, the ALS targets to be on between dusk to dawn (night) and off between sunrise and sunset (day), under normal clear weather conditions.

A wide angle 120 degree lens reduces false triggering with fluctuations in cloud cover and overcast conditions.

The ALS is minimally “weather resistant” and needs to be mounted so as to protect from direct exposure to water / moisture.

A low 2.5ma Typ. idle current draw when the switch is off is excellent for battery operated systems.
