Need more air? This 5 gallon air tank is perfect to use with train horns, air tools, kite-surfing, tire-inflating, or just about any onboard air application. The tank is rated to twice its stated working pressure and is capable of holding 300 PSI without problems. Better yet it meets all DOT specifications and is burst rated to 800 PSI.
This strong steel 5 gallon air tank has sevent 1/2 in portss and one 3/4in port. Half inch ports are perfect for high-flow applications like train horns (the real ones like Nathan AirChimes or Leslies). The large diameter of the ports prevents bottle necking that you might find with smaller air tanks.
There are 4 ports on the side, 1 on each end, 1 on top, and 1 on the bottom respectively. This makes it very convenient to install a drain cock and safety blow-off valve even if you mount the tank upside down.
You *must not* pressurize this air tank over 200 PSI. Doing so is dangerous and may result in serious injury or death.
It is recommended to run these tanks at 150 PSI for the best performance.
Air tanks are not designed for use indefinitely. They must be replaced every 5-10 years or if signs of wear, stress, fatigue, or any sort of damage appear.
To ensure the longest use of your tank you should drain it regularly. Allowing condensate to build up in your tank will not only shorten the lifespan of your tank but is a safety concern.
