RF Center Kit
5 Hole Brushed for Grant w/Relays,. We all love adding new gadgets and accessories to our cars and trucks. Everything from power windows to electric fans to DVD players to fog lights. The list of those “must have” new products is almost endless. The question becomes, though, where to put all the switches to operate these accessories? You don’t want to clutter your custom dash with a bunch of toggle switches or drill into your door panel or center console. So what do you do? The Painless solution is the revolutionary new line of Painless RF Control Center products. RF stands for “Radio Frequency” which means that you can operate accessories both wirelessly and remotely, either from the center of your steering wheel, or from a key fob you keep in your pocket. Each Painless RF Control Center system consists of three parts: the transmitter, a receiver which you can remotely mount anywhere on the vehicle, and a relay (or a bank of relays). The accessory you want to operate is wired to the relay which in turn is wired to the receiver. When you press a button on the transmitter it sends a signal to the receiver which turns on the relay and operates the accessory How it Works The receiver is programmable, meaning you can customize it four different ways: Momentary .... Only operate the accessory while the button is pressed (i.e. for a horn) Ignition hot . Only operate the accessory while the ignition is on Constant hot .. Accessory operates whether ignition is off or on Timed . Accessory operates for a specific time (30, 60 or 90 seconds) Although the transmitter only has four buttons, it can operate up to six different accessories by pressing a combinationof two buttons. So one typical scenario for operation could be: -
Button I - Programmed momentary for horn -
Button II - Programmed ignition hot for headlights -
Button III - Programmed timed for left turn signal -
Button IV - Programmed timed for right turn signal -
Buttons I&II - Programmed momentary for start -
Buttons III&IV - Programmed constant hot for dome light You can also use more than one transmitter to operate accessories. So, for instance, if you program Buttons I and II in the steering wheel to lock and unlock power door locks, you can program Buttons I and II on the key fob to do the same thing. The transmitter works up to 100 feet from the receiver, so program one button on the key fob for ignition and you can start your car from inside the house and have it warmed and ready on cold winter mornings. Painless RF Control Systems require no drilling and are simple to install and operate.
