These are the stock OEM offering on the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee (with 20" rims). They were fine when new- quiet, good in the snow, good handling and decent fuel economy. However, despite regular tire rotations they developed a "shimmy" that could not be corrected with standard wheel balancing. The vibration drove me crazy so I replaced with the Bridgestone Alenza and have been very pleased. It's too bad about the Forteras, because these tires are much cheaper and they worked fine for a few years. However, even before the vibration set in I noticed a marked decrease in winter traction that wasn't due to lack of tread. It's almost like these were designed to fail prematurely in several respects.

Of course, they cost half as much as some competing brands so if you're just slapping them on for resale ora lease vehicle, not a bad choice I guess.

After asking around, I have learned that this large SUVs need more frequent tire rotations compared to a regular passenger vehicle. I would recommend every 3-4,000 miles. I think I went a little long on one of my rotations (7,500 miles) and that could have caused the vibration.

Still, if you have the money, buy something else.

Bought these as OEM tires on my 2011 Durango Citadel. At 14,500 miles I am down to the bar, and am replacing themas we speak. Because the vehicle was engineered to be super quiet, some ratings are hard for me to quantify. At first, handling was OK, not great, but OK. Icould live with it. It took me 2 years to get to 14,500 miles but I quickly noticed the traction control more often would kick in. Granted, I am a "spirited"driver, I don't burn them out, or radically mistreat them. I drive within the parameters of the vehicles abilities. I also noticed, that they seemed quiet atfirst, once again the vehicle is exceedingly quiet, the tires have been noisy for the last 5-6k miles. The ride comfort has also suffered greatly, and for thelast 3k miles or so, one must start off very slowly to avoid the traction control from taking over, In rain, the have been a bit scary for a while no. I willnever buy these again. I just ordered a set of Yokohama Parada Spec-X, based on reviews. I expect to have much better luck and to be able to post a fantasticreview.

I have a 2011 traverse Lt and these are the tires I got on the Truck Brand new only 3 miles on them at 22k I noticed they were pretty much down half way on their wear and I noticed as soon as they started to wear the ride became horrible. for a tire that is close to $250 a tireI would have hoped that they would have lasted their 60,000 mile mark guess I will be replacing them with in the next couple of weeks. with 40k on them and them bald it kind of makes me rethink getting another set of these Fortera HLs.
