Timing Chain, Secondary, 2 Required (17453.16) by Omix-Ada®. The crankshaft drives the camshaft and valvetrain via the timing chain. The valves are timed to open and close at precise intervals, and this timing can go astray when the timing chain becomes worn and loose, causing poor engine performance. If the timing chain becomes so loose it jumps one or more teeth on a sprocket, the engine may not start at all. Replace the chain, or preferably the entire timing assembly, at the first sign of wear, with a new replacement from Omix-Ada.
