A/C Receiver Drier by Omix-Ada®. The receiver drier is part of the A/C refrigerant system, located in the high-pressure liquid line between the condenser and expansion valve. It contains a desiccant bag that absorbs water and traps debris. The receiver drier should be replaced any time the A/C system is opened for service, such as compressor or condenser replacement. Even if the lines are immediately plugged, enough moisture can be absorbed through the air to completely saturate the desiccant. If it is not replaced, water would be allowed to circulate and mix with the refrigerant, causing freeze ups and creating acids that will corrode the system.
