A/C Compressor, with Clutch (17953.04) by Omix-Ada®. The A/C compressor is driven by a belt from the engine. When the clutch is engaged, it pumps refrigerant through the A/C system. It takes in low pressure refrigerant gas at the compressor inlet and compresses it into a high-pressure, high temperature gas, which is sent to the condenser. If testing proves that the compressor in your Jeep is faulty, Omix-Ada has the correct replacement that will restore A/C operation and performance.

When the A/C is switched on the clutch should engage the compressor. If it does not, the system may be low on refrigerant. If there is a sufficient refrigerant charge and the clutch does not engage, there may be an electrical problem. If the clutch is receiving voltage and will not engage, the clutch is defective. The compressor can leak refrigerant and fail from a lack of lubrication. A/C system problems are most accurately diagnosed with pressure gauges connected into the system.
