Baer 3262001 - Universal Floater Conversion Kit

Brembo GT Series Brake Kits

Item Number: 4294358

Product Description

Universal Floater Conversion Kit (3262001) by BAERĀ®. 5 x 5" Bolt Circle. Baer's Floater Conversion kit adapts rear flanged axles with single bearings to a double bearing configuration to relieve axles from directly supporting the vehicle weight. This eliminates axles bending during aggressive cornering which leads to instability as well as uneven tire temperatures and wear. The kit includes hub assemblies with bearings, races, rotor plates, seals, backing plate with a 1-piece e-brake shoe, spindles, and all related hardware needed for installation. This kit is not designed for anti-lock brake systems and will fit 5 bolt patterns with bolt circle diameters of 5 inches.

Whether you are preparing your vehicle for the racetrack or for high performance driving on the street, better handling around turns can make a difference between winning and losing. Many vehicles with solid rear axles are typically designed with hubs that have only one bearing assembly per wheel. Because each of those single bearings serve to support the weight of the vehicle while allowing the drive axle to rotate within it, the axle can flex under the high g-forces created during curves at faster speeds. When this happens, the axle and wheels temporarily shift out of proper alignment - requiring a larger amount of steering correction which inevitably leads to slower speed and less control around turns. Tires that are not rolling straight develop drag - causing uneven tire temperatures and premature tire wear.

Baer offers the Floater Conversion kit to solve these issues, sized for 5 bolt designs with bolt circle diameters of 5 inches. It provides all the hardware you need to convert single bearing rear axles to a dual bearing setup. Once installed, the axle no longer supports vehicle weight or absorbs the cornering loads which cause it to bend. Instead of a flange on the end of the axle tube or housing, a reinforced steel spindle ensures alignment and accuracy. Plus, the kit includes an integrated parking brake assembly. Included are bearings, races, rotor plates, seals, backing plate with a 1-piece e-brake shoe, spindles, and all other related hardware. Rotors and calipers are not included, however Baer brake sets will work in conjunction with the Floater Conversion kit properly. This kit is not compatible with ABS systems.
