These tires replaced Conti Pro-contacts, which were not OEM for this vehicle. I enjoyed the Contis but wanted to try something different. The first winter the Hankooks were OK, but last winter, with about 30k miles on the tires they would break loose on the freeway at normal speeds when there was any amount of snow or ice. The Contis NEVER did that. It was unnerving to say the least and I had to limit my speed frequently. My AWD is probably what kept me on the road last winter.

Once the tires reached about 40kmiles a very noticeable hum developed, even in a cabin as noisy as the Foresters. Annoying.

The tires are wearing decently and if I lived down south where there was no snow/ice worries I may keep them on, but in Minnesota, I NEED snow and ice traction. I have no complaints about them in wet.

I will replace these tires before Thanksgiving, at about 50k miles. I won't trust them through another Minnesota winter.

I've had nothing but problems with this tire. Have had my car in several times for balancing check(s), alignment check(s). Stillhave shimmy, awful road noise. I even went so far as to purchase another vehicle thinking it might be the old vehicle suspension, but not true. The problems followed over to the new vehicle. Hankook refuses to take any responsibility for the problem. So I am now in the process of reading reviews, asking a ton of questions which will eventually lead to purchasing new tires, BUT NOT FROM HANKOOK! The tires are now 3yrs old, but only 18,000-20,000 miles on them. What a waste of money. I would definitely NOT recommend these tires.

I am about to purchase my second set of this tire. I only got 65,000 miles out of this set, but only due to a fault of my own. My car was out of alignment, and I neglected that until I really thought something was wrong. This caused uneven wear..the inside was worn down much more than the outside. BUT, like I said that was no fault of the tires, just a stupid mistake on my part. I love these tires. They are the most comfortable and quiet tires that I have driven on as far as I can remember. I drive mainly highway, combined with some city driving - hence noise comfort is extremely important to me. I live in the Houston, Texas area, so we do get some very heavy rainfall here. This tire impressed me tremendously with the handling in heavy rain/standing water areas. Not once did I feel any hydroplaning or slipping. They also felt nice and tight with as far as steering is concerned - both in dry and wet conditions. My gas mileage was also tremendous with this tire. My car has about 95,000 miles on it now, and the gas mileage is just as good as when it was new. I also drive across the country almost every summer to visit family, and it really does handle well on the highway.
