The Large tachometer is installed in the instrument cluster in place of the Large clock in all 240 Volvo models built after 1981.  The 240 Volvo comes pre-wired for the tachometer. Just plug in the red/white wire to the single spade connector at the bottom of the tachometer. Includes the plug. While this item fits all 240 Volvos made after 1981 removed from an 83 240. The tachometer is a satin/semi gloss black finish.
