This auction is for a NOS, Vintage Carter Carburetor Repair Kit # 1086A. The kit is complete and contains unique Carter carburetor parts that can only be found in these old Carter brand repair kits. All parts have been removed from envelops and photos taken to show their condition and this is the kit you will receive. Parts will be sealed in zip lock bags to prevent loss during shipping. The kit is listed in the Carter literature to fit the following cars:

Apple and Ferrari—What could be better?

Recently a press release popped into my email (remember when we used to say “came across my desk”?) that said Eddy Cue, Apple's head of Internet software and services, has joined Ferrari's board of directors. The statement said while on the board Cue, a Ferrari owner, will “aid with his experience in Internet-based commerce.” My two cents: It's a brilliant move for both parties, and the ramifications could be huge. Think about it: Does this mean Apple wants to make stuff for cars?

Winners announced in Factory Five design competition

Earlier this year, we brought you news of an open-sourced design competition from American kit car manufacturer, Factory Five. The brief called for a compact, two-seat roadster that shared a drivetrain with the Subaru Impreza. The car would feature a bespoke space-frame chassis, but the mechanicals would be lifted from the Impreza to allow the car to sell for under $15,000.
