This product was developed after I ordered a carbon fiber dash kit. I hated the way the dash kit looked. It was just a big, shiny, puffy sticker that didn't even cover the entire power window switch panel. Even worse was the fact that it was so thick, the ashtray couldn't even open and close normally. I wanted a thin, self adhesive cover that could wrap around the entire panel and ashtray. I also wanted matching pieces to cover some of the console that weren't available from the company that made my dash kit. And that's exactly why we developed this product. What we have here is thin, pre-cut self adhesive vinyl cover with the look and feel of real carbon fiber. It is precision cut and fits the power window switch panel, ashtray lid top portion of the emergency brake lever base and front and rear sections of the center console.

This product is available in a black carbon fiber finish, silver carbon fiber finish or grey carbon fiber finish. Please contact us via ebay message or leave a note when checking out with PayPal to indicate your color choice. IF NO COLOR CHOICE IS INDICATED, BLACK CARBON FIBER WILL BE THE DEFAULT COLOR SHIPPED. CDN launches Studio Photos

Wed, 16 May 2007

Car Design News is today launching 'Studio Photos', an extensive new library of high quality car photos taken in a photography studio. Developed in conjunction with automotive design research consultancy Car Men, it is a unique CDN member service created specifically as a visual benchmarking tool for design studios and consultancies who require directly comparable photos of production cars. Most designers or researchers will be familiar with the task of quickly finding good images of specific cars, details of some new model's tail lamp, or the side view of a particular class-leading competitor.

Maserati Kubang

Tue, 13 Sep 2011

Maserati today unveiled its new Kubang sport luxury SUV, the Italian brands's first foray into the segment. The Kubang, making its debut at the Frankfurt motor show, is said to be the forerunner of the future Maserati range. Previously revealed in concept form at the 2003 Detroit motor show, Maserati claims the production version of the Kubang maintains the main features of its concept precursor, such as the style, engine, suspensions, brakes, handling and performance. The manufacturer has for years been producing sedans, coupes and two or four-seater convertibles, but the Kubang is the first of its kind to be created by Maserati.

Video: BMW’s beautiful Design Portrait of Karim Habib

Wed, 20 Feb 2013

We're often inundated with videos from OEMs. Many are thinly-disguised PR-laden party political broadcasts but occasionally we're presented with gems such as this Design Portrait of Karim Habib from BMW. Ok so we don't really believe the Head of Design, BMW Automobiles sits dreamily sketching at a perfect desk with only a delicate espresso for company or that he cruises Munich in a (gorgeous) 2002 tii oldtimer for inspiration, but as an insight into what makes Habib tick, his design philosophy, and how he came to be in such a position, it's a beautifully-shot treat.
