It's a Corvettes summer at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion
Sun, 18 Aug 2013You couldn't swing a camshaft without hitting a Corvette at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion. Chevy was celebrating, in no particular order: the 60th anniversary of its iconic sports car; the rolling unveiling of the new C7 Stingray; the first-ever public peek at the C7R race car; an almost-unprecedented gathering of great Corvette race cars from all eras; and a ginormous gathering of the Corvette faithful tearing around the track in all models of screaming, roaring American muscleVettes, few with silenced exhausts and many emblazoned with all or part of the American flag. Young drivers 'feel invulnerable'
Fri, 25 Apr 2014MORE THAN seven in 10 young drivers think they are better than the average driver despite the age group being 2.5 times more likely to be involved in a serious crash, according to a survey by Vision Critical and road safety charity the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) The IAM says that the average of 71% reveals a perceived 'invulnerability' in young people that is not reflected in the real world. Britain’s most confident young drivers are in Northern Ireland where an astonishing 87% think they are better than average. The facts tell a different story, with young drivers making up 26% of those involved in crashes.
Skoda Adds Rapid Spaceback And Yeti To Motability Scheme
Thu, 13 Feb 2014THE WAIT is over and Czech car maker Skoda has added its two newest models to the Motability Scheme. Both the all-new Rapid Spaceback and the facelifted Yeti crossover are accessible through the programme to individuals receiving the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance. Key to the cars appeal will be the high levels of practicality and interior space available from both models, coupled with a nil Advance Payment on selected variants.
